Could you imagine walking with Paul!
But, first things first! As I began to read Acts, Chapter 1, my heart felt a stirring. “After He said this, He was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid Him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. ‘Men of Galilee,’ they said, ‘why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen Him go into Heaven'” (Acts 1: 9 – 11). If we could have been there to witness that one event, what would we have thought? What would we have felt? My heart jumps at the thought of seeing Jesus, but the thought of seeing Him ascend to Heaven – oh my goodness! Of course, what would we think if an angel were to speak to us right now? These men were the witnesses to one of the most power filled events ever! Their hearts saw the One they had followed, listened to, shared bread with, and watched crucified to fulfill what their fathers, grandfathers had been teaching them for ages! They were standing in the midst of power of Jesus Christ!
What has stirred my heart is this – we are still standing in the midst of the power of Our beloved Jesus! The passion these followers had was a true passion. This event stirred my heart into questioning – do I have that passion? What if I had been one of those witnesses? Haven’t I been a witness to a miracle before? Why yes I have! The birth of my two beautiful daughters was a miracle – a miracle of creation! I have witnessed miracle healings! How about that for passion building faith? I have to admit, that scripture not only caught my attention and touched my soul! Now, I am seeking, looking to lift the Name of Jesus at every opportunity, in any arena, without shame, without fear – and filled completely with a passion for The Living Christ that I have not felt in quite awhile! I thank God for not allowing me to keep on my path of knowing about Him, believing in Him, and moving on with my life! Now, He has brought me to a new place – a beautiful place -in Him, for Him, about Him!
